do I need a gtp fuel pump for the the sc motor swap
We used a BIN file for a 04 supercharged Monte carlo/impala in mine.
Then just tuned it from there. Except for the L67 injectors and rails, I haven't touched anything else in the fuel system. Speaking of which, I need to change the fuel filter.. but its rather rusted (go figure)

98 z34 harness. Egr, yes. Evap not yet
Like said he is a good guy. Just like Holmes on homes. "He will make it right".
As fr the PCM. L67ss what harness are you running? Are your egr and evap hooked up? The 99 gtp PCM runs the car but without beig able to run a case learn I don't feel safe with it. So now it is just a backup limp home PCM if I ever need it.

Hi Guys..............Been reading this thread and thought I would chime in as well.
I have an '01 Monte SS and just did a Complete L67 Swap out of an '01 GTP Sedan (Done during Christmas holidays of 2013) that was no longer safe to be on the Road (I Live in Ontario Canada)
After the Swap, My Monte Fired right up and ran perfect on the stock n/a PCM. But, Shut it down and then try and re-fire and it hunts for an idle. But at least it runs so I can move it in out of the shop. I put the GTP PCM in the Monte and wouldn't even crank over. So the Monte's PCM went back in.
I kept the complete wiring harness out of the GTP and wired in all the Fuel L67 Injector Pigtails plus two other Sensors that my n/a wiring harness would not reach/Plug into. I also am running the GTP fuel pump (Just in case it was required) Also swapped Transmission parts (Torque Converter, Differential and the Stronger Main Shaft over to the Monte's Trans (As electrical connectors differed and did not want to chance putting the GTP Trans into the Monte.
I also wired the Boost Control Bypass Solenoid into the PCM PIN #77 in the clear connector as the Wiring diagram for the '01 GTP and '04 Monte SS show this as the location for this PIN.
Now I have contacted Overkill for him to supply me with a Tuned PCM, but have not heard back from him(Tax Time?). I am also in talks with another guy but am not having much luck with him.
Now I am confident that the Hunting idle was only Temporary as the computer was learning after being disconnected from the Battery for over a week. But, I know the timing is different then the N/A 3800 and also want a bit more then stock performance from the new power-train.
On another note, I've hooked up an Autometer Boost guage...... But do not think it is working. But not sure 100% sure until I actually drive this down the Road.

the hunting rpm at idle is most likely due to the pcm thinking you have the 3800 n/a injectors. since you have the L67 injectors in, they are commanding to stay open longer than they should be.
basically, you're flooding the engine and making it an extremely rich burn. the only thing i would be doing to that car until the tune is done is to move it to a safe place and leave it alone.
if you used the L67 Map sensor, that could be part of the reason as well.
if you use the n/a 3800 pcm file, i would not used the L67 map sensor. i did not have any luck using it (ran like butt) and switched back and tuned from there and havent had much of an issue.

After the tune the car runs great, that is when you finally get it started. I picked up another computer out of a sc car and hooked it up and had the same problem as you mentioned. That is because the computer has a security and it has to be synced to the vehicle. Your local dealer can do this. However, there may be a way you can do it yourself. I will try it out when I get the time and let everyone know if it fixes my problem.
duster, the PCM must have your cars VIN coded into it, or it the BCM will not allow the car to start. any tuner can do this , powrtuner or HP Tuners.
if you have a local member, they will need to have the stock pcm file to flash since reading the file off of the pcm and reflashing with the correct VIN will not work. I do not believe you can just update the VIN on the stock file, it must be an unlocked file.
