You got to ask yourself Mike, "do you feel lucky", well do you? Here's hoping things go perfect, but they rarely will least not with my build experience. Maybe you WILL get lucky, best wishes....

They want to hang on to it for one more day. Drive it around some more and check the air:fuel ratio just to make sure I am fully safe and not leaning the engine out too much.

I should have it back tomorrow, although if the rain is bad like they say it might be, I might have to wait until Thursday.

Maiden voyage was a bust. I'm misfiring like crazy. On idle revving it's fine, around town it's not bad... get on it and it's misfiring. Go to overtake a person on the highway, and it's just pure hesitation. If I slowly accelerate it's fine.

I'm hoping that I just need to go to colder plugs and that nothing is terribly wrong. My A/F ratio was spot on where it should be. Maybe a hair rich, but at 11.6 it should be dead-on to prevent KR.

Here's a few initial pictures, and a quick video of the sound. I just still need to tinker with it I guess...

That bracket clearance wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be, just needed to be bent down and turned a little. I thought it was going to hit where the idle pulley had to go, but I was wrong. That was a good thing to be wrong about haha.

My new EXTREMELY thin fan system. I got plenty of clearance now! (I did ziptie that plug wire off the fans, just after I took the picture)

Here's the quick video of it running:

Holy Cow you got her back, sweet! I bet it's nothing more than a couple of bugs that need chased out. This is such a unique setup you have on your Monte. There can't be more than a handful of Monte's out there like this. Like the whine on the video clip, she is going to be so bad *** when it's all dialed in.... NASTY Monte coming..... So happy for you Mike, yeah she's home.

if the AF is on point then my next concern for the KR would be too much timing. Not sure if you have a tuner or not or access to the bin file. But from hearing it is ok at idle and part throttle my guess is the spark table is too aggressive at mid to upper throttles/ air mass. with this build why did you not have headers?

It could be too much timing. I had my car tuned with DHP back in the day when I did my HV3+rockers+Plog and such. I'm still running that tune assuming that the MAF and PCM can do fine adjustments since I'm only running 4 pounds right now. I don't have access to software to tune anymore, but I do have my tune file from the kid that did the tune and I could email you that.

I don't have headers because while I always wanted the CSC, I thought I was going to do a turbo build when the CSC kit was discontinued. So I was doing a build for turbo, then stumbled upon getting this kit.

The misfire was specific to cylinder 3, so I'm going to check the plugs tomorrow (I hope)

you could also be hitting the ceiling on the maf, i doubt it with only 4lbs of boost though. and also once you hit the ceiling of the maf it will flood out in fuel so if your afr is good the whole way up it must be something else. either way i would have that thing tuned asap

The shop that did the build was going to charge me too much for a tune. He said the car ran well, and the A/F ratio was good, but his EFILive couldn't read my PCM. Then I took the car on the highway and it was misfiring.

The charge for him to get someone's HPTuner and dial me in was basically the cost of HPT itself, and it's money that I just don't have right now.

Not sure what to do right now.
