Why not just do zero swaps and buy a different car?

I just mentioned the 3100-to-3400 swap because it would probably be the easiest and cheapest switch you can do. In my pre-Monte days, I did a bunch of n-body reading (focused on '93-'95 Grand Ams) and that was a fairly common swap. The few guys who did it were able to use the stock trans, sensors and PCM programming from the 3100. Very few, but minor issues with the swap (just little things you need to know going into it).
Don't get me wrong, an L36 or L67 swap as far more desirable in my book. But from what I understand, it would require some more effort and possibly cost, but it has been done, so the info is out there.
Now, if you're planning on buying a different car and that's what you plan to "play" with, then I don't think it's worth exploring any big mods (like a top swap) on this one.
