1995 - When are the fans supposed to kick on
My friends 95 Monte Carlo overheated Thursday night while she was sitting on the side of the road. So I told her what to do and she made it to my house without the car overheating the rest of the way. Great.... Now I just recently checked out the car and the cooling system is doing its job. When driving the car the airflow through the rad keeps the engine cool, as it should. When the car sits for a while, the engine temp gets up near the last line just before the red and the fans never kicked on. The temp at this point never crossed the last line.
Now normally this would send a red flag saying, ok the cooling fan system is not working. But before I jump in and say that I remember my ex-gf 94 saturn would heat up till the gauge hits the red and then the fans would turn on and cool the car.
So my question is, when are the fans in a 95 monte carlo supposed to turn on?
I don't know much about the monte carlo but I can easily figure it out as I am very mechanically inclined. I have not check fuses, the first thing you would normally check when something is in question but its almost 1am right now
Thanks all.
