What Exactly am I supposed to Gut
So I took the airbox apart today... there is nothign to gut!! No fins to cut out, nothing to bore because then it would be a completly open box. What exactly am I supposed to do to gut this thing? It's a perfectly straigth shot of air to the filter, through the pipe thing to the throttle body. No signs that it has ever beeen modified either. Whats the deal? What do I gut?

basically all your doing it opeing it up so that it can breath better.
when i did mien at first i took a hole saw and cut two big holes in the front of it so that it would get more air flow. to the filter

but you need to be careful where you cut so you dont suck in hot engine air....
this is why this is a cheep mod and not the best idea.... do a FWI and you will have a true cold air source that will work.

RE: What Exactly am I supposed to Gut
After reading all these Threads about Cold Air Intake ... I went-out and took a very close look at mine. I think mine IS a Cold Air Intake. The opening to the Airbox is behind the Headlight bringing-in air from outside the engine compartment.
I don't have the money to do any costly Mods, but it seems like I could smooth-out any surfaces that might be restrictive in getting the Outside air into the engine without any trouble.
