04 monte carlo wont shift unless i reset the computer

Default 04 monte carlo wont shift unless i reset the computer

Hi i have a 04 monte carlo ss. That i jus put a
New trans in. B4 i took the trans out of the other vehical
It shifted great no problems. Now that its in the monte
It shifted fine untill i turned the car off. Cranked it back up, an drove
It wouldnt shift out of 2nd. I disconnected the battery an trans
Harrnest to reset the computer an it shifts fine un till i
Turn the car off. Whats causing this

What vehicle did you take the trans out of?

The 04 transmission is different. The gearing is different, that will mess with your shift points, which is what I am assuming to be the issue. I think you need to get it actually tuned for the change.

Wn u say tuned u mean a tune up or pcm tune.
An would i get that done at a regular autoshop.
Or is it somthing i kan do myself

You will need someone with HPTuners or DHP tuners to do it. Honestly, ZZP might be able to help you out. See the issue is, the computer has set shift points, like 45 mph at 5500 rpm, etc. When you change the gear ratio, it can confuse the computer. I would assume that is your issue.
