Question 01 SS Motor Mount Replacement

Hi all,

First off I have lost overdrive in the tranny and plan to replace it in 2 weeks. Not sure if this is the cause of my issues. Secondly, I just looked at my motor mounts and they are severely cracked and the engine moves way too much when I shift.

ABS and Traction control warning lights stay on and car shakes violently under acceleration in right hand turns (fine in left turns) and when car is going straight and hitting dips in road. As soon as I let off the accelerator under both conditions, the shaking stops and the car drives smooth.

Could this be the effect of bad motor mounts?

I am going to go ahead and try the motor mounts since they look like they are going to fall off. Do I need an engine lift to accomplish this?

Thanks for any help

If it's just the dog-bones that you are replacing, you just unbolt one, put the new one, then unbolt the other, put the new on.

sounds like the wheel hub to me not a motor mount. the engine mounts are easy to inspect for wear, just grab the motor and try and shake it if it moves a ton then its them and you should be abls to figure out the one thats fkd

The shaking sounds like a driver side wheel bearing going out. If it makes a roaring noise that would be my best guess for that. As far as the motor mounts, why not go ahead and replace them. It cant hurt anything. Just like chibiblacksheep said, one at a time.

The wheel hub was my suggestion in another thread, so I didn't want to repeat myself :P
