Someone who lives in California knows nothing about this :P

one more thing to add about the ones on ebay, the reason why poeple say they crack is becase you need to "break them in" but they are very good brakes.
Ok, I have the r1 concepts/ebay chinese drilled & slotted rotors that were just over $100 for 4, coated and everything. I'm running EBC red stuff pads on them. I broke them in per EBC's reccomendations for bedding in new pads/rotors. My front rotors have cracking beginning around the drilled holes.

The rotors are also less substantial than the stock rotors- the hub areas are thinner (I had contact between my caliper bracket and wheel spoke where I never had an issue before)- the webbing seemed thinner, and the R1 rotor is lighter (less mass to absorb the heat than stock, and the stock rotors were already pretty small for a wbody).

Now I can't say this about every ebay/china made rotor- but I will say that I will never agian buy cheap rotors again to save a few bucks.

When I installed my rears and did a test drive, without even using the brakes much I had metal shavings everywhere, because something wasn't right.

x2 on never saving a quick buck again on rotors

well, okay i completely understand your experience, and yes they will crack a tiny bit around the drill holes, i shouldnt have said they wont at all. i also (since you have so many mods) expect you drive a littte harder than people usually do. now i dont "baby" my car but i dont rip it around. and my experience with my rotors has been great i have about 85k miles on my rotors and they still look brand new. another thing is mine are not chinese(im pretty sure) and they are the same as the ones at the beginning of this thread. i dont know if you have ever heard of these(kinetic rotors&power stop pads) but these are the ones in question here>

i forgot to add this above, before i purchased the set i did a live chat with a tech guy from EBC and got all the specs on the stock pads and rotors(dimentions, thickness, diameter, material used, ect. and everything matched with the ones i bought from ebay.
