Default Grinding only when turning left..

Hey guys,

So here's the deal, when I'm making a sharp left turn, usually 25 mph or less I hear a grinding noise, it sounds like it's coming from the driver side, I checked out the CV axle and it seems to be mechanically sound. The other thing that has come up in my search for answers is the wheel bearing, I haven't had a chance to jack the car up and free spin the wheel yet but my question is is it possibly anything else? She's got 255,000 miles on her and I'm scared it'll take an act of God to get the wheel hub assembly off. I apologize of this is the wrong forum, it's the only one that seemed to remotely fit the problem. I appreciate any feedback.

Thanks,
Andrew

Edit: Just realized I selected 6th gen, when I actually have a 1999 Monte Carlo LS

I would say it could very well be the passenger side wheel hub.

My guess is that the car has had them replaced in their life... they are a pretty common failure point.

The passenger side? Even though it seems to be coming from the driver side? I'm considering diving in head first and replacing both sides, rather than just one side, only for the other to fail a couple weeks later.

Intermittent grinding can be difficult to track down sometimes but I'd focus my attention on the strut, cv axle and wheel hub (bearing). Are there any shops near you that do free suspension inspection? They may be able to pinpoint the source easier with the vehicle up on the rack.

It's usually the right hub when turning left and the left hub when turning right

Don't rule out worn out brake pads and/or warped rotor

Just put brand new ceramic brake pads and rotors on a few months ago. That definitely shouldn't be one of the problems, however I'll check those as well!
