Default Cooper CS4 Touring T Passenger Tire

Anyone run these on their Monte?

My local Cooper Dealer quoted:

"The Cooper CS4 Touring Tire you are asking for a price for is $118.65 each, this includes mounting, balancing, new stem, and free rotations every 6,000 miles."

i have those tires on my car (came with it when i bought it)

they're ok but i wish they were a bit smaller in diameter. as far as handling, they hook up good in dry weather. in wet to torrential downpours the jury is still out because i don't wanna find out their traction limits the hard way.

I've heard good things about Cooper Tires, but never had them...

What size rims do you have? I have stock 16" and I know you could get an equal or better tire at tirerack.com for cheaper...

i've heard good things about these also from the internet and the tire tech at fleet farm. they look to be a decent price too. however, when i looked for them on discounttiredirect.com, they said they were not available in my size 225/55-17

therefore, i think i'm going with the yokohoma avid trz's since they have a promotion right now and i've heard good things about them also.

I am not sure if Mill's fleet farm is like Blain's Farm and Fleet..

I like Blaim's but I will never let them touch my cars. They never fail to screw something up.

Default Got the Tires But...

The Tire Shop put the Wong CS4s on my car..
I asked for the T rated tires and they put on the H rated tires.

The T rated tires are supposed to last longer and run better in snow and ice.

Kind of surprised a 80k tread is rated better in the snow? Maybe not harder rubber, but just more of it?

I call the shop as soon as I got home. They old me that there is nothing that they can do. They decided to put H rated tires on my car because that is what I had on my car.

Anyways, Cooper has a 45 day trial.. I will just say I do not like my tires and see how that works.

If that doesn't get me anywhere then I will use my credit card's protective services.

Thanks,
Jeff

The H rated tires are nice.. don't get me wrong..

I don't go that fast though...

Every time I get Tires something goes wrong except when I went to Waukegan Tire. I try to shop close to home. Waukegen tire is close to work so I will also go there.

Sears didn't put all the lugs in one of my tires and argued with me that it is not possible because they are checked over.

Blains Farm and Fleet never installs them correctly in my experience.. The last time I had Waukegan tire remount and re-balance them. They leaked like a civ and shook the whole car.. Blain's Farm and Fleet could not figure out what was wrong.. They blamed the shaking on my suspension and the leaking on my wheels. I took it to Waukegan tire and they said the wheels were never cleaned up and the shaking was because they were not balanced correctly. Waukegan tire was honest.. Told me I have good tires and just needed a better install.

Waukegan tire is always great for tires.. That is where I bought my last set. I should have stuck with them instead of giving the local place up the block my business.

I guess you live and learn.
