Default Sunroof problem

Hello guys, so I had my sunroof checked out and it turns out that the track is messed up. The track itself is broken and they said that I need to replace the regulator. The guy said that the regulator is a part that is discontinued so I was wondering if anyone knew where I could find one? I have a 2000 Monte Carlo LS 3.4 V6

Any help is appreciated!
Thanks!

I agree. I think that a salvage yard would be your best bet. Just make sure that you keep it lubed so it doesn't happen again. Another place to try would be rockauto.com. Good luck!

Thank you for the responses! Yeah I tried rock auto, they only sell the motor and glass. I have found out that a lot of people wont sell the entire assembly because UPS won't ship it therefore it has to be shipped by freight which is like 200-250$ so it isn't profitable for people. I found one online at a location nearish to me in San Antonio for not too bad of a price.

Is there something special you need to do for maintenance on them? I purchased the Monte about 3 weeks ago in that condition and I would like it to not happen again haha.

Mine started bouncing when I would close it. I looked at the tracks and they were shiny from the lack of grease on them. I ended up using gun grease on mine. No problems for over a year now. I'm sure that there is an application specific grease that "should" be used. Gun grease worked for me though.

Alright thanks! Just apply it to the track while it is open and then close it right? That isn't something that needs to be done in an installation or frequently, just once a year?
