Talking A Sticky Situation

Hi ya'll, got a question that I hope one of you can answer. I'm the second owner of my Monte and the original owner put this ugly spoiler on it, well it wouldn't look bad if there wasn't that hump in the trunk. Anyways, i wanted to correct it w/ a OE factory wing style one like on most SS montes. Thing is the spoiler was installed with some sort of "glue." How can I get that off without messing up my paint? Any miracle removers you can recommend? Same thing around the windows, he had rain guards - when I got it their was a rain guard (singular) the other fell off, but some of the adhesive was left - when i ripped the 2nd off their was a lot so I scraped what I could and did the naughty thing and used some paint thinner (shame shame I know) but it got most of it off, but I can't get it all off - any recommendations?

Thanks
- Mike!

Man when I run into stuff like that I use a heat gun set on low and rub it off with my thumb. Its the best thing Ive found thats safe on the paint. A hair dryer will work too. If you try it, make sure you dont get the paint too hot. Its also better to have a buddy help so you can use his thumb instead. By doing so you wont get a huge blister on your thumb. Good luck man.

Try using GooGone for removing old adhesive residue. If it's on glass (like a State Inspection sticker) you can scrape gently with a razor blade and remove what's left with Goo Gone. It really works!

My suggestion would have been paint thinner, but you already tried that.

spray some brake cleen on a rag and rub the crap outta it. it'll take a while but it should pull it off pretty well.

A heat gun, A soft plastic scraper and a lot of patience.
