It finally stopped raining long enough for me to start digging into the Monte Carlo. The rear isn't too bad but it's going to be a lot to repair.

The rear bumper is pushed down by half an inch or so. I'm hoping that I can push it back up enough without cutting the damaged area of the frame. If I have to I'll slice into the frame, bend it back, and then reinforce that area. If I do I guarantee that section of the frame will be stronger than it ever was from the factory.

They're twins. The DeLorean's rear fascia is getting stripped for a repaint and was not the victim of an accident.

I found a hood. I didn't have my van but happened to see the sign for a yard that I didn't know existed. One of the workers took me out to the blue Lumina they had listed in the computer but it apparently had hit a pole head on. A couple of rows over was a white 96 Lumina with a perfectly good hood. It's 75 bucks so tomorrow I'm heading out there to get it. I would have gone back today but we got hit with a huge thunderstorm.

I probably would have in a normal storm but this was was spawning waterspouts off the coast. I figured no one else would have gone after that hood and even if they did there was another one out there that was good too. It just had a surface rust spot that this one didn't have.

one thing kool bout a lumina hood is you can ditch the silly chrome strip without having to fill holes

I've been thinking about getting the z34 front bumper from the yard. Mine is only scratched and I can fix it. I'm not a fan of the red outlined bowtie on a blue car. I think the posts are all that were broken on mine.

I kinda like the chrome strip. I'm going to run without it and decide later if I want to reinstall one. They are not produced anymore so I'd have to source one from somewhere.

I bought a B&D reciprocating saw to go with my 20v drill. I also got the extended run-time battery. Hopefully when they come in I'll go back to the yard and cut out a trunk panel. Then I can really start to put my car back together.
