5th Gen ('95-'99): Restoration due to accident
The replacement panel fits fairly well. I only have a little work to do before I can weld it in. Some of that includes cleaning out the trunk completely. The trunk lid closes with no gap issues on either side.

The new hood went on too. There are gap issues here due to the damage on the radiator support. Hopefully I can get those solved.

Things look like there progressing right along.
Thanks for keep us posted on your progress.
Maybe once you get all the kinks worked out. and look to do any other additions...
I may have a complete ground effects kit for sale which would include,
Front, rear valances, side skirts and spoiler. If your interested..
This probably wont happen til spring or so...
So you have plenty of time to think about it...
Looking good from what it was. So, keep up the Great work!
Thanks again for sharing.

I've been thinking about it but I don't think I'm going to be doing a body kit or even putting the spoiler I have on this Monte. She's just not going to be perfect ever again and I'm okay with that now. As long as I can safely drive her I'll be happy.
Final test fit prior to welding in the panel:

Welded in and test fitting the rear bumper (it's not bolted in):

Definitely going to sand and polish these headlights before the project is done.

I still have to adjust the trunk lid. I think I can close the gap a little on the driver's fender once I get the hood bumper back in place. The one I had was destroyed in the accident.

I'm grinning like a loon. I just took her on a shakedown drive. It's been months since I drove my girl. I'd forgotten how nice she drives. I would have taken photos but it was 8pm when I finished. I'll have to get some photos after I wash her tomorrow.
Maybe now that she's done I can get back to my neglected projects and clean up that disaster I call a yard.

The bump stop is missing. I forgot to get one from the junkyard those many months ago. I've also got to fix the support for the hood latch. It's pushed down on the driver's side which is pulling the hood further out of alignment. It's on my list of final fixes.
