re-doing tail lights (smoked/painted)

Default re-doing tail lights (smoked/painted)

i had already did some custom work to my tail lights before but was unhappy with how much the red stood out... so i smoked em out today..
also did the reverse lights to.


i used some ICI transparent black basecoat reduced not quite to a 1:1 ratio so it wouldn't take as many coats to get it to the darkness i wanted. this stuff drys to a shine and is very tacky as compared to regular base.. so i think ill clear coat and let em bake in the sun for a day before i start masking onto of the black and end up with silly tape adhesive marks in it..
ill post the completed pics in a few days

I like the look of them smoked.

But I'll wait until I see the finished product.

I have a customer that does the same thing but with DBC not Nexa. He said that it works great.

Looks very great, any good way to stop reflection completely so people cant see red circles when my lights are off haha??

looks good, i also can't wait to see them on the car. i'm still on the fence about smoking my lights. i love the sleek/stealth look but i also love the red and white pops of the taillights and headlights.

thanks all.. thou im a little worried i may have tinted them to much.. maybe 3 coats instead of 5.

after seeing them on the car im diggin the look. everything black/sliver. i thought i posted the pics of them installed from the work puter but i guess i hit preview instead of submit lol
