Default re-doing tail lights (smoked/painted)

i had already did some custom work to my tail lights before but was unhappy with how much the red stood out... so i smoked em out today..
also did the reverse lights to.

i used some ICI transparent black basecoat reduced not quite to a 1:1 ratio so it wouldn't take as many coats to get it to the darkness i wanted. this stuff drys to a shine and is very tacky as compared to regular base.. so i think ill clear coat and let em bake in the sun for a day before i start masking onto of the black and end up with silly tape adhesive marks in it..
ill post the completed pics in a few days

I like the look of them smoked.

But I'll wait until I see the finished product.

I have a customer that does the same thing but with DBC not Nexa. He said that it works great.

looks good, i also can't wait to see them on the car. i'm still on the fence about smoking my lights. i love the sleek/stealth look but i also love the red and white pops of the taillights and headlights.
