Is it possible to convert an 80's front end to a 78?

Im looking to buy a 1980 monte carlo but i hate the double headlights... is it possible to just bolt on a 1978 front end without doing any major body work?

You'll probably have to do a bit of body work because on the 78 the light/ signal wraps around the side a bit.
