I rattle canned the front bowtie and it looks great IMO. I didn't even scuff it up, just cleaned it with alcohol, 3 coats of duplicolor gloss black, and 3 coats of duplicolor clear. I've probably had it for like 4 months now and no chips. Sorry the pics are kind of crappy.

hey looks pretty good ... it looks like you painted the outside of it right ?

if you live in arlington heights ... i live in wooddale ... wanna meet up at a car show sometime ??? theres one on mondays near you ... and one on fridays in elmhurst near me

i popped mine off and did the back of them ... i didnt want it shiny

Yep, I painted the outside.

Cool, where is the meet on monday nights? There's also a show friday nights REALLY close to me that I keep meaning to make, but haven't yet. It's on kirchoff in rolling meadows.

well i got bad news for you on that one because the one at meijer is no longer at meijer ... its all but dead now

the one near you is right by barrington and higgins ... wasnt real big when i went, like 50-60 cars but some cool ones nonetheless

When I went to replace the trunk bow tie on my '06 LTZ, I black siliconed it back on the trunk lid. That was 3 yrs ago. I didn't even clean the double sided tape off the back of the bow tie. The trunk was cleaned 100%. But I left the tape on the back of the bow tie and so far so good.
