need help with de-badging
i have been reading acetone is good for taking it off but it can remove the paint as well depending on what kind of paint the car has. and a Mr. clean magic eraser? I did try gasoline but no luck. i dont know how long the glue has been back there. i bought the car 6 months ago at a auction and it was a repo. correct me if im wrong but the longer its on there in the Florida heat the harder it is for it to come off?
If it gets wet sanded properly it shouldnt remove that much paint to have it repainted.. Its on the surface not in the paint.. It will remove some clear but not that much.
I agree if you can just sand the surface without going to deep you can save the paint thought i prob would not risk it cuz all it takes is one little opps and now the whole quarter or whatwever has to be repainted i know from exp

this morning i took a hair dryer and some goo-gone to my car and after many frustrating attempts at no success, i took my car out to a few shops and to autozone. and apparently the genius who owned the car before me, decided it would be a good idea to super glue that emblem on. it probably fell off some how and he super glued it back on. and from what they told me, u have to sand it off then repaint it. and that is not worth the hassle for just that little emblem.

Best advice so far...if it looks like a razor is the only thing that'll get it off, I'd try a body shop or my graphics store (they put on the decals that I couldn't get lined up right). I have found that if Goo Gone and fingernails won't remove something, NOTHING will! Good luck.
