They really don't serve a purpose - they're supposed to quiet engine noise. In reality it doesn't. 340 bucks for something that's just going to get covered in crap isn't worth it. You could just clean yours up and have it painted on for a lot less. Or even buy a spare from a junk yard for a few bucks, clean it and paint the design on - then you can swap it on when you want it - it'll stay cleaner that way.

 

I don't think it's worth it for that much.. would be cool to have under the hood, but I won't be putting mine on the new hood.
