Default Hit and Run victim, New Headlight Recommendations Needed

Hey Guys, my Monte was the unfortunate victim of a hit and run (trip to NY to visit family). Luckily since it was a hit and run my deductible is only 200$ out of the $1779.31 estimated damage.

Since my headlights were aftermarket and insured as such, I now get to choose whichever headlights I want as long as they are under about 300$. I have been looking at the new style Projector that is out now but haven't seen any pictures of them installed. Does anyone have any pics or know of anyone that has purchased the new style? (see link below)

The older style I have started peeling last year and have like no clear coat on them plus the LED's stopped working so I feel iffy about getting them again.

I'm also considering the black Depo lights.

Luckily you had such a low deductible. Good luck with the repairs.

I have that style headlights. Mine are the smoked version, but I would not recommend them. The low beam output is absolutely horrible. Also, you can't fit an H1 HID into the projector, as the bulbs are too long and hit the shield. The so called CCFL is just a plastic ring edge-lit by two low output LEDs. You can't even tell they are on unless it's pretty dark. I've never had any other style aftermarket headlights, but these are of pretty poor quality in my opinion.

@lougreen03 Thanks for the good luck

@Casmithy Thanks for the information. I was strongly considering those lights but with your review I think I'll go with something else.

I would just go stock and put some shade on them and pocket the cash! Good thing your deductible was low, mine is sooooooo high! Sorry to hear about the hit.

@werewolf-odst

They actually order the headlights for me after I send them a link so I don't think I will be able to pocket the cash unfortunately.

My deductible is normally 1000$ but apparently since it was a hit and run, it's a special circumstance and as long as you get a police report they lower your deductible to 200$. That was honestly the best Christmas present I received lol. Nationwide really is on my side, who would have thought?
