engine enamel on calipers???
I found a can of engine enamel laying around in the shop the other day and i was wondering if i could get good results if i used it to spray my calipers. should i use some kind of primer before hand? what are the differences between engine enamel and caliper paint/aerosol? will the paint hold up on the calipers? it says it's good for 500F. just curious if anyone else has done this or would know. if this engine enamel would work, it would be a nice free upgrade to my calipers. thanks!

Well, I agree with chibiblacksheep. Im not so sure it will last long either. Try VHT Caliper paint. It's rated up to 900F, and it says it right on the can, it will not peel, crack, or chip no matter the weather or conditions. So far, it's been over a week, and it still looks like I've just painted them.

thanks guys. i wasn't too optimistic it would work but i thought i would inquire. i'm sure the temp rating would be fine but the brake dust and chemicals would probably break it down. if anyone else has opinions keep them coming! thanks!
