Glad that worked out, Sorry I missed this thread, but better late then never,

1.) I love the MPD Hood it is built on a metal frame with fiberglass, and fits perfectly, since it's lighter you also get some weight reduction...

2.) With the MPD Hood You can get the plenum to make it an actual functional ram air hood, with some modificaition...I opted for it, though never did the cut out, I don't really see gains from the air moving forward down to the air box:

3.) As for a cowl hood, there was a major demand for it back in the day I did a number of chops, people waneted a company came saying they were gunna do it, and never did...however a number of people did do there own custom one offs:

4.) as for the stripes I also vote for keeping them...as an idea, here's Jaime's Monte with red stripes from Monte Madness:

If you are going all out and replacing the hood with a ram-air setup, you might want to look into the flush hood latches from Aerocatch.

They are a more modern looking hood latch, and they will look good one the Monte.

Here's a gallery: http://www.aerocatch.com/category_su...1&procatid=162

Look at the triplets in that pic! LOL! If I ever came into a good amount of money I would get that hood and redo my stripes the same way they are now on my Monte.

Hey i know I'm late, but about the cowl hood on that black monte, WHERE IN THE WORLD, did you find it, or find the scoop? I've been going crazy trying to find the scoop for mine.
I'll be updating my profile soon so my Monte can be seen

The scoop hood is a ram air hood you can get from MPD or PFYC. The MPD hood is a bit more expensive but the people who have it say it's higher quality and fits MUCH better than the PFYC version.
