I guess the Beta may be quicker because it's not a full OS, but when I had the full release from Microsoft it booted in right around 17-20 seconds off my SSD.
Yes, from a complete shut down. Notice I said the OS boots in 8 seconds, I didn't include the BIOS initializing. But from the second the mobo hands off booting to the HDD & OS, it takes 8 seconds. I didn't believe it myself, but I've seen it in person so seeing is believing in my case...

Hmm, I think I could get it to work just fine with the Win7 drivers for the elitebook, I may have to try that when I get back to my apartment lol

Hmm, now I see haha I included BIOS in that. I'm probably going to change my BIOS to run solely off the primary drive (don't think i've done that yet) and then look into the fast boot.

I think I can get WinXP to boot within 10-15 seconds easy.

I kinda like the idea of being able to see what programs are open at the bottom of the screen. They way it is on the traditional windows setup. On a battery operated device, it kills battery life if you forget what's running in the background. And microsoft is huge for running a bunch of stuff in the background.

Wait, isn't it usually the woman telling the guy what he's allowed to buy and not buy?
