Default Windows 8

With windows 8 release coming soon i thought we needed a topic on it. I personally think microsoft is retarded for what they're doing for windows 8. Its such a drastic change, people aren't going to be able to use their computers if they're not tech savy. To me it just looks like a windows phone, which i'm not a fan of either.

Fresh Windows, but Where

It's for the new touch screen computers, I doubt any real laptops will come with anything but windows 7

Sounds like typical Microsoft attitude. Force something on people that they don't like or want. In that case, you would have to have a touch screen.

If history repeats itself, Windows 8 will be plagued with problems.

Mike, a quick browse of hp and dell's website shows that windows 8 really flooded the laptop market, with windows 7 choices rather limited on hp and a bit more on dell. All these hidden features and swiping and so on are going to confuse the hell out of the basic computer user and probably even confuse some more advanced people. It's a very high learning curve and i think people are going to be in for a shock when they buy their new computer, like they said, windows has been the same configuration since 95

More then likely I won't get the next windows until it's all worked out.

They should do all of their testing with dell, then no one will care.

It's more of a tablet OS, but it will be on some laptops. I've already been running the full OS and love it, but it will be easier to use on tablets for sure

Hard to see but Win 7 left, Win 8 right.

If the classic UI still had the normal functionality as it did in Windows 7 while allowing people to use the Metro UI as well, then it would probably be a good OS.

Right now, it's a gimmick OS that should have only been used on tablets and mobile devices.
