Hi `Devin,
you bought it for the looks & was rewarded with the power + so many other features (& then got a V8)

Below from page one
How Much Power Do I Need?
In our road tests, we always cite 0-to-60-mph times, but the fact is that very few people ever actually use full throttle.
I don't think the above statement applies to our MCF Member's (?) Most I think drive FULL THROTTLE

ive owned nothing but chevy lol...started out when i was 15 and my dad suggested i go look at a Dark green metallic 2000 cavalier z24 on a local car lot, ended up buying it and it had 70k miles, and it sat for a while until i got my license...then drove it for maybe a year until it started leaking literally EVERYTHING...put 1000 dollars into engine work and drove it a little longer until it started leaking again.....so i started looking for newer cars and found my first Monte, a black 2005 LS with 65000 miles...traded the cav for that and drove it all through high school and into college for a year, putting around 50000 miles on it, but ended up getting bored of the lack of power of the 3400 and the absence of electronic amenites such as tract control, cruise control, etc...so i started looking around again, originally looking for someting awd, with a bigger engine, but found my current car, a red 2006 monte carlo LTZ which was loaded and had the same mileage as my current Monte, so i traded and got that, now 20000 miles later and some top engine rebuild work as well as suspension repairs, my Monte is ready to keep rolling until i feel that itch again

Ended up at a Chevrolet dealership car shopping. Never even knew about the Monte Carlo till that day. Sitting on the showroom floor next to the 02 Camaro, the Monte's sleek lines caught my attention and after a test drive bought it that day. Only later after constantly getting my butt kicked on the open road for about 6 years my turbo VW GTI friend told me I needed to turbo the engine for more power, and well here we are now. Love the car, hate the headaches, but would not really want to many other cars out there.

I don't really have any crazy story. My first car was a 1996 thunderbird LX 4.6L. It was a nice starter car but I wanted something cooler. I originally went to look at a 1996 Pontiac trans am pro am edition. It was a 3.8L with only 28,000 miles. I just didn't really have enough money and couldn't get a loan since it was so old. As I was leaving the Monte pulled in. So I asked the guy what the price was, which was $15k. I thought that was to much so I left and 5 minutes down the road he called me and said to come back because he thought we could make a deal on it. So I went back and ended up being able to get into it. I always liked the Monte Carlo but I never loved it. I got bored with the FWD after a while and it was having rust issues as well as transmission issues. So I ended up trading it in and getting a 2006 Mustang GT about 3 months ago. I miss it but I have had more fun in my Mustang.

Back in 2011 i was looking for a car to commute to college with and i stumbled upon a 97 monte carlo ls for cheap, test drove it, found nothing wrong and bought it. Then after joining the community here and getting more into the monte i got my 04, i had liked the supercharged 3800 engine for a long time and now i finally have one.
