Default What to Choose?

My dad is trading in his 1996 Tahoe he wanted to get a truck with a bed but apparently he can't so the CARS program says. Well now he wants to look at Nissans and Toyotas don't yell at me its his choice. The thing about it is he is looking a the new Maxima, Altima and Murano (Murano because he wants something to tow stuff with) the other options were Toyota Highlander, Avalon and (Camry if he wants to go cheaper). I told him for a car I would get the Maxima hands down because of the styling and such. I wanted to know some others opinions on those cars or possibly another option? Right now for him he would like the Murano for towing and they are rated the best of the crossovers but?

Strictly out of those choices I would choose the Maxima and wouldn't even bother looking at any of the others, but if he needs to tow, he needs to tow, so it's the Murano for him.

I do like American cars but I REALLY like the Maxima the body style and 270Hp don't sound or look too bad. Either way I am not gonna get to drive either so eh? lol

I agree, I would go with the Maxima out of the choices. I'm kinda weary of the Nissan's though because I rented an Altima a couple years ago and it was soooo underpowered and the interior was real cheap. I haven't seen the new ones.

well if it was a rental Altima it was probably the 2.5L 4 cylinder model. So, yes, it would definitely be slow and cheap looking. The Maxima is freakin' sweet.

Well, I would NEVER choose any of the above mentioned, not even if you paid me...Suggest the new Chevy Traverse for towing. And for a car, the new Chevy Malibu is pretty nice.

But you all know me...Mr. GM......LOL!

I would have to agree though, I guess the Maxima is the best of all the mentioned above.

i have to say the only other import i like other than a mitsubeshi is a suzuki.... they make a REALLY nice product when it comes to driver comfort, economy and price.... the guy ma dad works with bought his wife an SX4 crossover... 16,000, standerd v6, awd, plenty of interior passenger space, she gets great milage.... not my taste in styling but hey, everything else about it screems great commuter car.... at the NY auto show, me & my dad also were looking at the grand vitara fullsize SUV, how often do you see a fullsize suv for under 20,000? plus it was WAY roomy inside, it felt like a shorter surburban, and everything was laied out nice.

i also liked the equater pickup they just brought out to compeate with the ranger & nissan trucks... again, very comfy, you could get a 5 speed stick, good sized bed, fair price, the v6 has a lil more horses & torq than the ranger or nissan v6 trucks....

check out their website : http://www.suzukiauto.com/?gclid=CMD...FVRM5Qod_HJOoQ

damn, i should get paied for that pich, lol. what can i say? i like their product

I'd say Nissan Maxima. But if I were to buy a newer car today (which would have to be a coupe) I would choose the Nissan Altima Coupe or the Honda Accord Coupe (since they don't make mid-full size American coupes anymore!)

Well he bought the maxima. And I was wrong from about its not 270Hp its 290Hp. We just got back from a test drive and some paper signing and wow that car has power to spare thats for sure coupled with the CVT tranny which is just one gear I WANT ONE! I will take some pictures when he gets it home and post a few I think everyone will like it (I will keep it to a minimum since I know this is not a Nissan Maxima Forum lol).
