i would continue thier ruise tell them the check hasn't cleared becuase it is such a large amount it will take 3-4 weeks get a name first and last and number you can reach them at so you can let them know it has cleared and you will have more information you can turn over

 

I received an email from them this morning that was suppose to be some sort of voodoo curse on me. Whatever...

I replied that I filed a police report because the check was obviously counterfeit. Also that they should resend payment by Western Union LOL. And then I set a filter in my gmail to automatically send emails from their address to the trash. So hopefully that's the last I'll hear from them.

 

Unfortunately this scam works all too often. I think I would've gone to the police with it. Perhaps it would help the fraud squad? I have to think the authorities are already working on cases like yours.

Seriously, he will claim to curse you and then claim to send the authorities after you? If that was a "real"cashier's check, and he kept his receipt, he can stop payment and get his money back. Whatever. At least you did not get taken in this mess!
