I've packed the doors when I was swapping out interiors so they are pretty solid. My oldest daughter slammed her door once when I dropped her back at school but never since........seems her father on his knees screaming to the Gods in anger was a bit much to explain to fellow students........(it's his MONTE...mid life thingy). she's pretty gentle with it now...........

 

Haha thats awesome. And rj I think your right, like all 80s cars ive beein in need you to shut them hard or they go to a half latch position.

 

My two door 1985 Cavalier was like that too. You had to really put some effort to closing the door. Or else it would go to the half latched position.

 

yha, i dont like when people slam the door on my car, but mine ya kinda have to. i had to replace the passenger side door latch when i got the car ( would not open at all!) and i guess 'caus sometime in the cars past it was gently sideswiped nothing lines up exactly on that side. so the striker bumps the top edge of the latch, and makes this horrible "CLUNK" nosie when ya close it, and ya gotta give it a lil effort to open it. i guess im lucky, most of my friends are TOO gentle with my doors ( must know i dont like people slamming them ) and they cannot get into or out of the passenger side! haha.

 

I've opened car doors, house doors, whatever for all of my girlfriends since I started dating.

When Maureen & I were together it irritated her to no end. She wanted to show me she didn't need a man doing things for her. TOO BAD! I opened the door for her anyways.

Help them with their coat, the door, anything I can think of to help out.

lol reading this, ive really only noticed it once, and thats when i start rolling down the window and screaming, i do have a problem with my drivers side seatbelt, it doesnt roll up very well so ill just gently push my door shut and it leaves big dents, gotta pull out some bondo and go to work on it this summer i think but not sure lol

 

Lou, I can think of a few myself. LOL...probably on the same lines! LOL!
