Default Rant Number 1,475,362

I've been collecting Monte Carlo information, most of it coming from ebay. Two weeks ago a guy listedseveral dealer albums for Buy It Now from the 1980s. One of them for 1986, which I wanted since my '86 Monte should be in it.

I found this auction and although BROKE I thought "Alright! I've got to own it." So I took the money out of my savings and sent a money order (no PayPal account) for this dealer album.

The guy did send the dealer album. But it's NOT for 1986. It's for 1989. He said he didn't realize it wasn't for 1986.

It's not that I blame the seller. But he should have known what he owned BEFORE he listed it. Plus the let down of not having the item I've been searching for.

He's offered a full refund and offered to let me keep the dealer album but I have no use for it so I told him I was sending it back to him. And he also offered to reimburse me for the shipping.

Good thing I didn't leave any feedback for him yet.

If you have any 1989 Monte Carloliterature it would have to be RARE pre-production stuff since 1988 was the last year for the Monte Carlo, until the return in the mid 90's.I have heard of other cases of literature, dealer brochures, etc, for cars that never made it to production, and they are practically priceless.

Atleast he didn't try to give you a hard time about returning it. It could have been much worse.

Might ought to rethink sending it back

If it's that rare, yeah, keep it.
You can always re-sell it yourself and get your money back that way.

ha.. what a mess. i'm surprised.. alot of sellers woudl just ignore you. you got one who's trying to avoid a negative feedback for once.

But it is worthless to you... there was no Monte in 1989.

BTW, you've ranted like 200 times your post count... thats pretty weird.

Not really. I have issues.

Yep there was no '89 Monte. And no Monte Carlo information in this dealer album either. I asked BEFORE I bid on the thing and was told "Yes the Monte was included."
