Had a military family in my shop today. They've already voted and it wasn't for Obama . He's headed back to Iraq for the third time and he still voted McCain.

I doubt Texas will go Obama but it doesn't really matter now, obviously we don't count anyway.

When the computer calls you to urge you to think otherwise than what you know to be true; remember the state of affairs we are and just hang-up!

I think Computers shouldn't be allowed to make Political Telephone Calls.
Interestingly enough I had one of those calls at 9 PM tonight while I was trying to watch the Phils in the World Series. I did employ your advice though. That was one disappointed Obama computer. Tomorrow (Monday) I'm filing a complaint with the County election board. Our number is unlisted and there are 2 of us in the house registered to vote, one Libertarian and one Republican. My wife has also received 5 unsolicited post cards from women B.O. supporters. These 5 cards were sent from various states and I actually thought the 1st card was quaint, yet sincere. We were puzzled how she got these since once again, she's a Republican. After actually reading them I noticed a familar theme in these, in fact the content was the the same in all 5. Only the name of the signer changed throughout the 5 cards. The messages had no substance, just references to "HOPE" and "CHANGE" and "Put our country in the right direction". You know, words that sound great, but really have no real meaning or substance.

I tell you what, I "hope" I have more then just pocket "change" left in my pockets if he's elected and he's able to push through his tax and health care plans. The owner of the shop I work for has said that he will be forced out if these plans go through. They will do nothing but rape his 1 employee (ME!) business. But hey, it might all work out for me. If B.O. is able to redistribute the wealth, maybe one you guys that have some money will be able to help support me for however long I want you to.

Sorry to hear about the future of your job Bob. We've jokingly said that we can just all quit our jobs and go on welfare - I hope that doesn't become an unfortunatereality.

and exactly what is it called when the wealthy get tax breaks? Isn't that "sharing the wealth"? Except us poor folks are sharing it with people who don't need it. I bet many of you who are supporting McCain aren't old enough to remember Reagan. But I do. And let me tell you: Trickle down has never worked, and it won't work under McCain.

Ido have a question I'd like any republican to answer for me. From 2000 until 2005, there was a Republican president, a republican House, a republican senate, and a Republican Supreme Court. They gave Bush a rubber stamp on EVERYTHING he asked for. TheDemocrats had no say in anything, could not filibuster or override a veto. No one can argue this is not true. So, based on this, whydidn't they overturn Roe vs. Wade? Nothing could have stopped them, yet they didn't do it. All republicans claim this is the one issue that makes them support therepublican party. Why was tax cuts for the wealthy, an unprovoked war that cost $10 billion a month and the money given out in no bid contracts, and unprecedented profits for corporations more important than overturning the one law that the vast majority of republicans say is the most important issue to them?

If no one can give me an answer, I'll answer it in a later post. But you won't like the answer.

And please don't take this as a negative post, I enjoy politics and an intelligent discussion.

As for your supreme court, it is not exactly Republican. It is 4-4 liberal and conservative, and then the moderate Kennedy who sides with both sides on different topics. They would need, I believe 6 votes (2 thirds present in case) to overturn Roe v. Wade, so it can't be done.

The Republicans had something of 50-50 senate, thena 51-49 senate, then a 49-49 senate with 2 independents (Lieberman and someone else who's name slipped me), so they never truly had the majority. "Mavericks"like McCain and Liberman who vote across the isle alot tend to throw the majority. The house, however, was a Republican majority. Bush has a few liberal tendencies as well (see his immigration bill from a couple years ago).

Gotta go over a few things here.

1. There are ALOT of people I talk to on the Obama bandwagon but I see hesitancy in them. My guess is people are going to want him but when it comes to a Democrat in the White House and with enough Congress seats the possibility of no filibuster, I'm thinking people are going to swich their mind to McCain.

2. Obama really can't touch the guns anymore and neither can the Democratic party. The Supreame Court clarified the 2nd amendment and stated that people may own guns. The problem is that the Democrats could tax the **** out of the bullets to make them so expensive you really can't afford them. I've heard talk about having a serial number put onto the casings and bullets to match the guns. That will cost a fortune right there. What more is that reloaders will become illegal because the the serial number tracking as well. This pretty much would next to stop law abiding citizens from purchasing ammunition, but still leaves the criminal with the advantage. I'm sure they would never file off the number or whatever.

Seriously I am really worried about Obama getting in and increasing government size even more but I also can't vote for McCain. When I hear him say dumb stuff like "Obamas going to raise taxes on those that make $42,000 or more a year..... pocket change wages to most Americans..." it drives me up the wall. Doesn't he realize that $30,000 is the average amount US citizens make. Above that you are in the richest 50%. I believe $42,000 was in the top 70-80%. So he basically mocked all those people that make less than 42K per year. More so I don't really like much of McCains ideas. It really sounds like 4 more years of Bush. In ways that isn't a bad thing, he was incompetant but I did like some of the things he did for our country and alot of people blame him for the mortgage crisis when a good chunck of that falls in Clintons laps but really it mainly falls on our own for trying to out-Jones each other.

im sorry to feel this way but it seems that from what ive seen that everyone is trying to play the blame game!!!!!!!!
what happened happened. we have to fix it. and mccain isnt going to. he is like another bush. when he was asked what he is going to do about the economic crisis he pretty much stated what just went through congress.
now i dont care whethere you vote for mccain or obama, becuase whoevers going to win is going to win. people made up there mind as soon as hillary dropped out (bros b4 hoes). im for obama and i think mccain will make it worse.
its alot like the great sepression. they needed soemthing different and fdr brought it to the table. obama is soemthing different.all we can do is hope that he brings COOKIES!!!!!!!!!!!!
(just my thoughts)

Well I'm thinking Obama is going to win. I'm also unfortunately but realistically thinking he will be assassinated within 6 months because he is black and there are so many racists out there. This will leave us with Bidden.

Bidden is Catholic. We have only had one other Catholic president (JFK) and we know what happened to him. So I'm thinking he will also be killed shortly after.

Next up Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi for teh win.

Now God forbid any of the above happens, but maybe there might be another psycho out there that doesn't want a woman in. BAM!!! There she goes. Time to get the President Pro Tempore in - Robert Byrd.

Robert Byrd is an old white guy with lots of years as a Senator. He should be pretty safe.

well in your scenario 04, biden would appoint a new VP. i think Kennedy was assassinated because he was pushing so hard for civil rights, not becasue he was catholic.
