Default Pictures from the Dover, DE race

Sorry I haven't been around much... been busy working on my Torino, working for money, finishing up classes and doing finals, and all kinds of other stuff.....

But my college roommate invited me to come up to his home in Maryland and join them for the race in Dover, DE this spring. His mother has been going for about 30 years now, since she was in high school. I drove up Friday, and on Saturday we shot some guns (An M4 with .223, a Ruger 22 rifle, and a Walther PPK in .380 and Sig Sauer P229 in .40.)

And on to the race...

So my roommate's mom is part of the Monster Mlie club, and for renewing her tickets this year and adding one, she got some trackside passes for free. You get ot go out on the front stretch before the race and look at the track.

We had to leave before catching certain cars.... seems like the crappy start and park cars made it onto the grid first.

The Geico skytypers..

Carl Edwards was sitting in the garage in the last two pics.... he was the last car to be inspected....

Dude, I was at Charlotte last fall ( much closer to where I live, my roommate talked me into coming up there), and everybody jumped up and had a great time on restarts... they stood up for the first start at Dover... after that, nobody even got up for the restarts. IT was crazy in my opinion... in Charlotte, we get into it. That row we were sitting on..until about lap 30 we were the only ones on it... some people came along on the other end but I think they just wanted more space and figured no one was sitting there and moved. One grandstand didn't even have tickets sold for it.

Deleware just doesn't like NASCAR like we do here in North Carolina

that's cool! I've been to Dover a few times in the 90's and back then it was jam packed and a very good time! This economy has been killing NASCAR the last couple years

Noticed while watching the race Sunday just how empty the stands were, didn't realize that the economy would hit THAT hard, looked more like attendance for a truck race. Always pretty much thought if someone gave up their tickets there would be several people fighting for them.

Only been to one race in Charlotte, want to go back again, if nothing else just to watch qualifying or practice.... something about the sounds and sights of the track!
