Yea, honestly i really just dont know what to do. I do thank you guys(and gals) for your suggestions. Have to see how things go, i hope it pans out and i dont have to search for another job but time will tell i suppose. Im gonna start talking around with some of the older guys who agree with me. Funny thing, it seems to be my generation of workers that suck, i am the youngest on the crew and the ones maybe 18-25 suck and the older guys ofcourse work. Maybe if we all get together we can go to management and see if something can be done

Talking with friends of mine, they're telling me to either find a new job or suck it up and deal with the crap. Finding a new job just doesn't seem feasible right now, i have a steady income and everythign is working right now. no one seems to understand me when i say trying to find another job is too much of a gamble, maybe someone here does?

I would look differently also, however is there any possible way to go higher up than your manager?

Keep plugging away Keane, this is not gonna be your only job, keep up the good work ethic for yourself! You have the schedule that works right now and an income, I think management needs looked at, at this point. Maybe talk to HR and see if they can look into it annonymously on your behalf. Slackers will be slackers, it happens everywhere.

There are plenty of higher ups than my manager, human resources and the union too. But we're all backed by the union so that probably wouldn't help too much. I'm probably gonna keep on going where i am, (i did look for jobs last night, not too much that interests me) And talk to other guys and see if something can be done.

What ever path you choose don't loose your work ethic.I work with some great guys but there are few that aren't so great (an one that really doesn't belong in any shop an hopefully wont be here long).I've got been reconized for the work I do were the not so great ones haven't.In the long run if you take pride in doing a good job all the time it will pay off for you.

^ amazing, i've always been the same way, i work my a$$ off when most my age just screw off.

best advice i could give, stick it out, jobs are HARD to come buy, most employers look at someone young like us and figure we'd just be another screw off. try to ignore the dumba$$ coworkers the best you can, and try not to worry about the boss, because there's not much yuo can do about him. instead, try to buddy up with the older workers, help them out with work, eat lunch with them, BS with them. beleive me, if you can make friends with them it'll really help your situation. they'll be more willing to teach and help you in return if you show a genuine interest in what you're doing.

Thankfully i actually get along pretty good with some of the older co workers. But like you guys said i'll just have to keep on chuggin and hope that it'll al even out eventually. But its interesting, this generation of kids really just wants money for as little work as possible and they dont care what kind of job they do.

If it wasn't for my dad I would have been just like them.He always push me to do a good job on everything.
Sad thing is it's not only the younger kids that slack off/poor workmanship. We recently got a old guy in the shop that doesn't care about anything but getting his hours the easiest way. He's not a very well liked person.

Wouldn't think so, slackers suck because the good workers have to pick up the work slackers dont do
