Sorry to hear about that. It's never fun when something like this happens. However, if you're planning on modifying your GTP, now would be a great time to get a built tranny that can handle power.

Went outside moments ago and tried to put it in gear and it DID! However a very awful sound is coming from it now.

 

Probably just because it's had time to cool off. I wouldn't push it any further.
