Wayne, we're very sorry to read about your mother's passing. Our Prayers go out to your family in your time of sorrow.

A good friend of mine Gene Rishforth lost his battle with cancer last friday morning. He closed his business (Star City Classic Parts) just recently due to his health. Going to car shows in the area won't be the same without him.

Thanks for the condolences. I know they are from the heart. RJ, sorry about losing your friend last week.
Yes, this has been tough lately with deaths in the MCF family.
My sister is days from passing. I doubt she will be alive for our Mothers funeral on Tuesday. Double whammy.

Wayne, sorry to read your sister isn't well.

Is this an illness she's been fighting for some time?

RJ, my sister has been in and out of hospitals and nursing homes for years. She is diabetic, and always ignored it. She smoked her guts out. She never took care of herself, nor her family. Now she is paying for it at the young age of 48.

So sorry to hear man...losing a parent in inevitable, but that doesn't make it any easier. Sorry to hear about your sister as well...it is angering to see a loved one not take care of themselves and dying from a totally preventable thing...been there...done that. Be there for your dad....I can't imagine what he is going through with his live partner passing and soon one of his children...no parent should outlive a child....

Finding Comfort in Poems about Death and Inspirational Death Quotes

Death is as natural as life and all of us must deal with the death of a loved one at some point in our lives. Much as we know that death is inevitable we are never quite prepared to deal with the loss of a loved one. When we are overcome with grief we can find comfort in the words of others, in consoling poems about death, inspirational death quotes and grief books to help us through the grieving process. We can also remember our loved ones with comforting memorial poems and sympathy quotes.

A Consoling Famous Death Poem

Death is Nothing At All

Death is nothing at all.
I have only slipped away to the next room.
I am I and you are you.
Whatever we were to each other,
That, we still are.

Call me by my old familiar name.
Speak to me in the easy way
which you always used.
Put no difference into your tone.
Wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow.

Laugh as we always laughed
at the little jokes we enjoyed together.
Play, smile, think of me. Pray for me.
Let my name be ever the household word
that it always was.
Let it be spoken without effect.
Without the trace of a shadow on it.

Life means all that it ever meant.
It is the same that it ever was.
There is absolute unbroken continuity.
Why should I be out of mind
because I am out of sight?

I am but waiting for you.
For an interval.
Somewhere. Very near.
Just around the corner.

All is well.

Death Poem by Henry Scott Holland ~ 1847-1918
