JC...
I saw a documentary on star trek. I was surprised to find out that many of the cool hi-tech inventions on the show were "created" to keep the show moving along so they could fit the entire story into the one hour tv time slot. Like the transporter.

Roddenberry knew that using a shuttle craft to transport a landing party would eat up too much tv time. So he came up with the idea of beaming down to the planet to save time. He figured the show took place a couple hundred years in the future, who's to say we wouldn't have that by then.

Same thing with a lot of the other stuff too. Although, some things got invented because of the show. Like bluetooth headsets for your cellphone. And the cellphone too, for that matter.

Well Space, you Google-ed it and found my all time favorite animated movie!!! I still watch that movie from time to time (and even for people not familiar with all the characters, it's fine, as they introduced a TON of new characters, almost the entire movie was new characters). And I still rank that movie better then the Michael Bay movies

Hay Jason, What would I have to do to get a copy of the Transponders movie from you? I've been looking for ir for a few years now. I use to have it on VHS. My mother would yell, "Scotty, beam me up" to get my attention when I was watching it!

LoL `Jason,
I just had to I have a thirst for knowledge & things I do not know (that's a lot 4-Sure)...I've never seen the movie and it's may be hard to believe, but I've never even seen any of the Star Wars productions.

I hope to some day ? Maybe when I'm in a rest home I have watched a lot of U-Tube trailers & short movies, but just haven't had the opportunity to seen them..When I'm off work I like to be outside doing things or my best spot is the beach. I sure do miss living on the beach.

Thanks for your post & contribution to this thread + all your help & contributions to our MCF
