I have been chastised about not giving an answer and instead finding the article that covers the ??? and giving a link.
So now I can clearly see why someone would pour Flex Seal into the engine crank case because it will fix the problem.
Great for instant Head gaskets Haha One of you guys out there has a sense of humor and you actually gave the advice that I was thinking about giving to this Inane individual. Shame on you! Lol

Lol I just grow tired of people putting their questions in a FB group or an online Forum before leveraging Google or Yahoo to help. Especially questions answered hundreds of times. Best one "How do I add a supercharger to my 3800". I might sound a bit mean, but if you did not do some simple google research first, then don't bother even trying to add a supercharger, just drive the car. I have a lot more respect for people who did some research and had questions to clarify something or perhaps ask something not easily found (some form of questions that show they put effort into researching it).
Some of the goofy things I have done that I was able to find answers thanks to internet search engines. Or some ideas I had, did some research and reached the point of "let's try this". All this data on the internet is useless if people want to only leverage someone else to look it up (because eventually the people making that content will disappear, following by the people who know how to use search engines).
You can find a forum for almost anything. Any time I have to figure out how to fix or build something, or just a general question, I can usually find the answer in a forum somewhere... and YouTube... Whether it be for my Monte, my wife's Sonic, our cats, or a variety of music and guitar related topics. I don't always sign up for them, but they're certainly handy to not just find factual information, but read about people's actual experience with various things.
I'm glad there are still new conversations being started, but most of the answers I find to my questions on here are around ten years old.... sometimes with updated info in the thread. I certainly hope that never goes away.

I've experienced a little different, I feel like people get the same treatment on Facebook with repetitive questions.
Good to see some of those 3800 forums are still available. I might consider joining the Chicago garage, I don't do any v6 stuff anymore, but some local car forums would be nice.
I do feel like a lot of people are getting sick of the regulation and restriction that Facebook is putting on their comments and posts and such.

I have three main forums that I follow, DieselPlace.com, GMTruckclub.com, this Monte forum, Ruger forum and a Glock forum. There’s others that I look at but don’t join. I had a 1999 Monte Carlo with the 3.1 in it, I put 399,960 miles on the car without ever opening the motor or transmission except for normal maintenance and replacing a few external bolt on parts.

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

It is fine that you don't like Facebook and the choices they and their founder have done. But you do realize, Facebook is not a government ran entity and therefore is not bound to our First Amendment right?

Any Facebook member (regardless if they read it or not) are bound to the end-user agreement they clicked "agree" to. Facebook is a private entity and can do as they wish within confines of various laws. Now if you want to have more fun, look up about Ted Stossel suing Facebook over the "fact checking". I recall seeing an article once (and I could not find it at the moment) claiming that it did come out in court that Facebook Fact Checking is primarily opinion based! THAT right there is something to have a beef with.

I realize that we have to agree to user agreement’s so that we can use a website. I agreed to the user agreement to use this website. My nephew just came up I got to go for now and let him shoot some of my guns.
Come back, internet from 10-15 years ago. We miss you! Dont forget about Discord. Another "instant answer" platform.
Personally, I refuse to use facebook. Never signed up and wont allow my kids near it. Same with tiktok and the others. I let my oldest use my Discord account but thats strictly used to get help for the couple games we play. Assetto Corsa/Beam/other sims.
Id prefer forums over all this newer stuff but it seems im in the minority with that desire.
I do love the RaceDepartment forums tho. One of the few "community" based forums left.
Idk, just my thoughts on the subject.

I follow forums on things that interest me, a couple of truck forums, Glock forum, Ruger forum and this forum that I get good information on my Monte.
I can’t bring myself to join fakebook, because of what they did to Former President Trump. I never had an account before that so I don’t miss it. I made an account once, I then couldn’t bring myself to use it.
