What keeps you coming back to MCF?

It's been a while since I started a new thread, so I thought of one that is hopefully some fun. Here's a simple question:
"What keeps you coming back to MCF?"

Many of us join different forums for reasons. Some popular ones probably are:
- Found a thread with pics and had to be a member to see the pics
- Ask a question to resolve a problem
- Contact someone selling something in a for sale thread
And of course some people don't join, they troll for a while and then might join.

Some people join with a short term interest and find them selves coming back for more or some join because it seemed like a fun idea....
But after your initial joining to MCF, what makes you come back? What keeps you interested and around?

I keep coming back because after I got my initial mod ideas for my Monte, I've enjoyed seeing what others have done. Between turbos and superchargers, to tinted tails and stripes, there is a lot of good stuff already here and at least every 2 weeks I can bank on somebody doing something I think "neat" (sometimes more often).

It's also a place where you can bounce new ideas and even if people feel it's a bad idea you don't get flamed for it. Lastly, it's a place that all of us here have some common interest with our respective Monte Carlos!
BTW - I've signed up on a couple Monte exclusive forums, but never ended up staying or really frequenting more then 1 week, except MCF.

For those interested, a little history on me:
I believe I originally joined because I was a new Monte Carlo owner. At the time I was hitting a couple 3800-based car forums (mostly an Impala forum and Bonneville forum) more then MCF. I have to admit, it was Chibi that nudged me to spend more time on MCF. My primary reason for being on any 3800 forum was looking for 3800 modding information (learn what's been done and how it's been done, get some ideas to improve my ride).

I never knew how long I'd stick around any forum. I lost interest in most the forums for one reason or another. But I stuck with MCF. Sometimes I return to the Bonneville forum, but that's pretty much it.

Because Monte Carlo, duh!

And I stay because (most of) you guys aren't jerks. Lots of other forums are hellholes where there are too many people to really get to know, and all common courtesy goes out the window and there's more debates and namecalling than any actual information.

I must say I really do enjoy seeing everyone's individual mods. It's given me so many ideas and has pushed me to buy stuff that I admit I probably shouldn't have lol.

I joined because I was looking to join a monte carlo forum. I've been on many forums and other car forums before. What keeps me coming back is this place has a great group of people that I enjoy stopping by to visit each day. Plus there is loads of information and mod ideas here as well. Like others have said, on other forums there is more butting heads and arguing. Here we usually all get along quite well.

I continue to come back because it's where I've always been, I've learned almost all I know about cars here.. I know everyone here, it's just a good place to be.

I don't post too much anymore but I definitely lurk all the time!

I bought my Monte in early September and anytime I'd try to research any information or look for answers to questions MCF was pretty much the first thing that ever popped up in the search results (which is probably how most people find us). So looked around for a month or so, I joined the NMCOA forum earlier but since they usually aren't very helpful with the newer Montes I finally went ahead and signed up here.

I come back, mainly because there's always something new to read, and it's nice to meet people around me (like Jason, Bait, and all the other Clevelanders) but lately I don't post as much anymore because unfortunately some of our newer batch aren't as friendly as the old bunch and I get tired of people jumping down mine and others throats.

I have mentioned before in some of my past posts as to why I continue to
be a part of the MCF.

Let me begin by saying;
I originally was looking for a resolve to an issue I was haveing with my Monte Carlo... I was over whelmed by all the responses I quickly received...
I have been on other sites...and getting a resolve was like pulling teeth...
Meaning.. I got more smarty alec comments than any actual help...
Unlike here, It was almost immediately and all the responses were so very helpful. without any smarty alec remarks or negativity.

Since I have owned mine from Brand new. (ordered it from the factory)
I like that this a MonteCarlo Forum.. regardless of what generation it is..
Looking at all the great ideas, mods, sights and sounds... Has really helped me to once again have a serious interest in doing something with my MonteCarlo that I have owned for the Past 14 yrs...
Lets not forget all the Great People I have met here in person at the cruises,meet and greets..etc... and those that I havent personally met face to face... But here daily! I like that this is a close nit community of People that all interact as if were a family. I like that its a family friendly site...
No off color posts, pics etc... That anywhere else would easily get outa hand... Thus ruining any chance of it staying a decent place to be... Be it for advice or just hanging out socially.

I guess you could say...
I like it here! Great people, Advice, It also kinda gives a retired guy like myself to be part of something thats Greater than Myself... for the Greater good of others...
Whether its personal advise, support... or mechanical know how..

Thanks EV1! For makeing the MCF a Great Place to be!

I come back and stay because it's a very friendly environment and honestly my only Monte Carlo forum I have joined (besides NMCOA).
