I think it's a shame killing off the ol indian line. I've loved Pontiacs since I was a teenager, and that's been quite some time ago, sshhh. My husband and I have had many of them over the years, GTO's, LeMans's, Tempest's, Bird's and even a Cat. Now those were cars. I can still smell the fumes and tire smoke, LOL, mmmm, love that smell LOL!
With the oil embargo of the 70's the only decent Pontiac line of that era (IMO) were the early Firebird's and by the 80's they totally ruined those too. I got excited in 97 when they came out with the widetrack GP and bought myself a fine black GT. Loved that car too. Kept it for 10 years with very few problems. But once they went to 4 doors, I looked the other way and hopped into the MC.
I understand why GM is doing what they are but it still saddens me. I hope GM makes it through this garbage with the economy and comes out stronger than ever.
But hey, at least I still have my 73 bird, 455 with 4 on the floor and loud and proud.
And yea, she's got that fumey, tire smokin thing goin on too!!
