Bye Bye Birdie...I mean Pontiac
The Link
So apparently there are talks of Pontiac officially being killed off. This saddens me, because with the Camaro finally coming back like a true camaro, I had a lot of dreams that we would be blessed with a new GTO/Firebird/Trans AM...
But good news to those who really wanted a cheap G8?

Too bad. I remember GM said not too long ago that they were considering making Pontiac a "niche market". What ever that means.
IMO, the only car they got that I would consider buying is the G8. Not completely my style, but it's about the only current model Pontiac I would consider.

I just remember the talks of how they were going to kill off every pontiac that wasn't a car, and just make RWD sports cars. Make it strictly 100% performance name.

after driving the worthless G5 for 2 months (rental when my car was getting fixed) i'd be inclined to say good riddance. but, then i think about the 04 grand prix i drooled over for months (the burnt orange color...ohhh), the ninety-something grand am that my brother had for a billion years, the ever-so-hot 02 trans am that my friend josh had that we used to cruise around in, one of my favorite classic cars ever, the '65 gto, and of course the smokey & the bandit trans am. makes me sad to see it going away now. now i'll never be able to afford that '65 gto haha.

IMO they ruined Pontiac the year they decided to drop the GP coupe (2004). I only bought Pontiacs but I knew what was coming so I bought the Monte in 03 and never looked back. Most Pontiac dealerships were combined with Buick and GMC so a lot of dealerships won't go out of business. I think they should get rid of GMC - Chevy makes the same exact trucks - only less fancy.

I find it all very sad
American Auto Companies must wake `up.
If we snooze, we lose....: (
I know that GM must made cuts 2 survive, but there
are many Pontiac's that were a great example of
American Muscle & Power.
I hope that GM will continue to learn & grow, and keep
providing us with new inovative products.
No More Merry Oldsmobile, and now Pontiac
It's a Sad Time 4 so many.
I shall pray 2 the Auto God's
Please 4give us for we have been lazy, greedy &
looked 4 instant profits, instead of long term
quality & productivity.
Is it 2 late to ReCover ?
`Amen
