Bad News for me and the Monte
Okay I know that there is a HUGE shock value right now, you lost your baby but let's not give up hope. You will have to probably fight your insurance company if the car is close to being totalled. You should right now start going to craigslist / ebay / autotrader / kbb and start getting all the values properly. You will need to bargain how much you feel the car is worth compared to what they feel it's worth. They may say your car is only worth $8k to them, but if you can prove it's worth at least $10.5k then you may get that for the car.
Next, you will want to talk to this body shop if you car is not totalled. You will get a check, and then you see where you want to go from there. Start looking at junkyards / sourcing your own parts as it may be cheaper, then just pay for the labor. You want this check to go as FAR as possible.
The next thing I would SERIOUSLY consider, this is the blessing in disguise of getting in a car accident. MOD TIME!!! Were you thinking about getting that new hood, with the scoop and everything? Let's say it were to cost $1000 to get that hood installed and ready to go, and the stock hood would cost $600... well if you pay $400 you can then have yourself a modded hood for almost half the normal cost if you had a fully operating and perfect hood to begin with.
I would start looking at what you really want, and see if you can talk to this shop and get the car back EVEN BETTER than it was. And see how far you can stretch that check.
All-In-All, best of luck with everything. I don't think the car should be totalled AT ALL, if 2 things: 1. the airbags didn't deploy, and 2. you did not bend the frame. The rest of it is all body work, plus the painting will all be done at once so it won't be as expensive as one at a time.
