I would definately go for a 2011 Yellow with Black stripes Camaro 2SS/RS convertible (Bumble Bee Wannabee, hehehe)... Iconic and I don't really care if Camaro's are a dime a dozen... This configuration certainly isn't... ... It has almost as big a satisfaction factor as my modded SS does...

I'm really impressed with how refined the Mustang is at all price points. I'd really enjoy shopping between one and a Camaro and it would probably all come down to the salesperson.
And if money is no object, I'd take the CTS-V Wagon! So much nicer then that ugly Mercedes wagon, which I wouldn't take over my Volvo wagon...

I've had 2 Mustangs. A '67 coupe, 302 automatic, and a red '66 GT, 289 4 speed. I've ALWAYS loved the mustang! Previous to the Mustangs, I had a '65 Comet with a 289 HI-PO and a 4 speed. My only Camaro was an '84 Z28 5.0 with a 5 speed. It was a rough old car, but then, so were the others mentioned. Seems as I've gotten older, my fondness for driving a beater car has changed.
My '84 Camaro was loaned to a good friend at one time. He loved that car so much he bought one himself, a base model, but beefed the engine up. It's a weekend warrior. He want's me to buy it from him for $2,400.
My Intimidator SS is actually my "winter beater". It has over 160,000 miles now. I have several summer cars to drive, and recently picked up a beater '95 Ford F150 4x4 truck. But for the last several summers my main summer driver has been our '82 Olds 98 Regency 2 door coupe. She's rock solid, a garage queen. But this summer, I think she's going to stay in the barn, and I'm actually looking at buying another summer car. Problem is we only have FIVE vehicles for the 2 of us now!
So what would I buy? LadyT JUST bought herself a new Dodge Avenger, trading in her '99 Silverado Z71 regular cab sportside. It had 234,000 miles on her. Why the Dodge you might ask? Her Dad retired from Buick City (a vacant field now). I have lot's of family that also worked at and/or retired from Buick City, and more at other GM plants. Dad worked there in '48.
When the auto companies started outsourcing their parts and tooling, our economy crashed, and me, being a tool & die moldmaker, lost my job several simes in the past several years, with the 1st time China being the problem. Jobs in the USA are important to us. We don't shop at Walmart because they force all their help to work mostly part time, with no benefits, AND they promote cheap crap made overseas (over seas jobs!). No, we shop at Meijers, a union chain, which has benefits like health insurance for their employees. Where am I going with this? Where is the Camaro made? Where is the Challenger made? Where is the Challenger's hemi engine made? Where is a Ford Fusion made? Where is the Ford Mustang made? The Dodge Avenger?
The Challenger is made in Brampton, Ontario, Canada, and the hemis are ALL made in Mexico. The Camaro is made in Oshawa, Ontario, Canada, which is where my Intimidator was made. The Fusion is all Mexican. The Dodge Avenger is made in Sterling Hts, MICHIGAN, with an AMERICN MADE ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION! And the Mustang is made in FLAT ROCK, MICHIGAN!
Now nothing against the Canadians at all, but personally I believe NAFTA was the beginning of the end of our economic disaster, and I would like nothing more than to tarriff ALL imported items, and put our work force back on track.
I've ALWAYS had a fondness for the Mustang, and I am looking for the right dark blue 2011 or 2012 Mustang GT, with a manual transmission. I'm not about to pay the new car price again, unless Ford has some HUGE incentives and zero percent financing. The Dodge was under $16,000, and the '07 Solstice GXP was $6,000 under sticker plus zero percent interest. My Intimidator SS was 7 months old, with 4,900 miles on it. A $34,000 car for $17,900.
I WILL have a late model 5.0 Coyote Mustang GT someday, and it might just be sooner than later!

I don't hate the mustang, my buddy has a 07 Foose edition and it's pretty nice but I think I would find a nice Green or red supercharged Camaro like the ZL1 or maybe a 45th anniversary edition or something from here. Home | Lingenfelter Performance Engineering. Like this.Camaro SS 427 CID LS7 800 HP Intercooled Twin Turbo Package | Lingenfelter Performance Engineering. Oops I may have went over the 42000 dollar budget but as you said many times space Dreams are Free.

Hello `Lou, I love your dreams 4-Sure....I was taught that dreams are where I want to `go & work is how I'll get there Not E.Z., but I've also learned that everything good in this life isn't E.Z. 4-Sure....I believe everyone can obtain their dreams if they really want them to come true...How much are you willing to give `up to make them come true ? Is it worth the investment of your Time/Life ? I've met to many seniors that have everything & are not happy, but I know many that are not wealthy, but happy to have their basic needs & EnJoy Life....WoW, all these decisions.....
*(above has been a reminder to `me) & hopefully it will make a member `THINK & plan their `Dreams.
(Oh, below is a picture of my space brain as a baby)
The more I have grown the bigger my `dreams
Thanks member's for your posts/words...I wish everyone super dreams that come true Don't give up 4-Sure
Peace/Out from `Space
