(Est.)Top Speed:155 mph (Est.)FILED UNDER:Posted on 08.1.2014 12:00 by Mark McNabb +4 The 2015 Ford Mustang hasn’t even hit showrooms yet, but the aftermarket performance scene is already preparing for upgrades and modifications. Legendary Mustang modifier Roush Performance is among the first on the scene with a silhouette teaser of its upcoming creation. Roush posted the image on its Facebook, saying more information would be slowly revealed over the next few weeks. As of August 1, 2014, the picture and pure speculation is all we have to go on.
Roush is famous for offering different stages of performance boosts via bolt-on parts, namely superchargers. It’s very likely this trend will continue with the new Mustang. Remember, the ‘Stang’s 5.0-liter V-8 isn’t changing all that much for 2015, so Roush already knows what it is dealing with.
Roush’s current supercharger offerings include Stages one through three. The Stage 1 kit bumps power up 155 horses and 115 pound-feet to total an impressive 575 horsepower and 505 pound-feet. What’s more, the Stage 3 kit pushes power to 675 horsepower and 585 pound-feet of torque. Those are stout numbers, to say the least.
Of course a Roush-upgraded Mustang wouldn’t be complete without a body kit. No doubt Roush will add aero bits like diffusers, spoilers, and chin splitters to the new pony car.
But hang on, the 2015 Mustang has a new performance-minded engine under its hood: the 2.3-liter EcoBoost. Perhaps Roush is planning performance upgrades for the four-pot. A bigger turbo? Larger intercoolers? Upgraded fuel injectors? Maybe Roush will push the 310-horse EcoBoost closer to 400 horsepower? For now, it’s all speculation, but stay tuned as Roush debuts its plans for the all-new Mustang .
Updated 10/01/2014: Roush finally unveiled the official details on its entire 2015 Mustang lineup. Check the details after the jump.

Ford Mustang By Roush Performance In Detail
2015 Ford Mustang
The 2015 Ford Mustang is new from the ground up. Even the live rear axle is gone. The ‘Stang enjoys a refreshed exterior that still pays homage to those early Mustangs yet still looks futuristic. The same can be said for its interior. It’s an all-new cockpit, but looks more upscale than before. Added lightness will also help the Mustang outperform its previous version.
Speaking of performance, the Mustang is available with three powertrains: the base 3.7-liter V-6, the 2.3-liter EcoBoost inline four-cylinder, and the mighty 5.0-liter V-8. Each lay down impressive number. The V-6 puts down 300 horses, the EcoBoost makes 310, and the V-8 brings 435 horses to the game.
Pricing for the 2015 Mustang starts at $24,425 and heads north to $46,995 for Limited Edition 50th anniversary Mustang GT.

Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 >2014
2014 model shown
- 15/24 mpg
- 3.5 sec
- 662 hp
- 189 mph
Overview: Any car with 662 hp for less than 60 grand is a real performance bargain, even if all it could do was drive in a straight line. The Shelby GT500, however, not only accelerates with alarming brute force, but it turns and stops surprisingly well, too, making it a hoot at the track. True, the unrefined interior and lumpy ride aren’t pleasant, but the GT500 is as bad-*** as anything on the road. While the 2014 model remains on sale, its replacement based on the new Mustang won’t arrive until 2016. FUTURE CARS – FORD MUSTANG SHELBY GT500 SPY PHOTOS »

Street-Legal Ford Mustang Cobra Jet will Fulfill your Drag Racing Dreams: For Sale
Street-Legal Ford Mustang Cobra Jet will Fulfill your Drag Racing Dreams: For Sale
By Tim Healey
According to Ford’s consumer website, you can get a 2015 Mustang GT Premium coupe for a base price of $36,100. Or, you can head over to RacingJunk.com and spend a bit more for a 2011 Mustang GT Cobra Jet clone that’s meant for Woodward Avenue.
Powered by a supercharged 5.0-liter V8 and decked out in a red, white, and blue paint job with a large cobra logo on the rear quarter panel, this sweet ‘Stang has just 15,500 miles on the clock — with just 7,500 miles on the engine itself. And it ain’t just a regular pony car — that engine is pretty built up. It has a 9.5:1 compression ratio, Diamond pistons, Manley connecting rods, a TSS billet oil pump, and an ATI damper, among other mods.

The cylinder heads have trick-flow valve springs and Manley valves. Kooks long tube exhaust headers and a Kooks off-road H pipe get the expelled gases out into the atmosphere. Roush mufflers provide the soundtrack. The intercooled supercharger is nothing to sneeze at. The 2.8” pulley drives a custom eight-rib blower drive, with 18-20 psi being the result. And power gets to the ground via a six-speed automatic transmission.
It’s a machine that was built for quarter miles and wheelies, but here’s the real kicker — it’s completely street legal. That’s right, this is the only street-legal Cobra Jet on the market, albeit a well-done clone. The seller doesn’t disclose the horsepower, but if it’s anywhere near the 500 found on the standard Cobra Jet, with all the racing mods, it should give any Hellcat a run for its money in a straight line.

So, whaddya say? $36K for a brand-new stock Mustang, or $43,700 for a low-mileage, street-legal, race-ready pony? It’s your call.

Driving the 2015 Ford Mustang, the pony car learning all-new tricks
When releasing a new version of an iconic muscle car, appeasing the masses is all but impossible. Some will believe that the ‘60s and early ‘70s were the only muscle cars worth bothering with, and that today’s versions need more swagger. The other side of the fence calls modern muscle cars too…

2015 Saleen S302 Mustang ranges from 450 to 640 hp
Full features and specs released.
By Alex Nunez, 2014 / Photos by Saleen
Well, that was quick. A few days ago, Steve Saleen unveiled another view of his company's 2015 S302 Mustang. We figured we'd have to wait a while for specs on the car, but this afternoon Saleen forwarded us the full feature and spec breakdown. They're embedded in full below, but first, a few highlights.
The "base" S302 White Label sees its 5.0-liter Coyote V8's bumped from the stock 435 hp / 400 lb-ft to 450 hp and 410 lb-ft. Incidentally, those numbers are closer to what a lot of us expected to see right from the factory. Upgrading to the S302 Yellow Label or Black Label adds the Saleen Supercharger system and radically increases output to 640 horses and 565 lb-ft.
SaleenThe Yellow Label / Black Label differences are, for the most part, cosmetic—different hoods, for instance, and the special Saleen Colorlab paint hues are available only on Black Label models like the one shown atop the page.
You can peruse all the differences in the Saleen literature that spells it all out:
