Hi Space,
Thank you again for doing my research for me.

As for the '03 Monte, well it's kind of up in the air right now.

The dealer said they could find my g/f a decent loan but now they say her credit score is too low for this to happen.

They suggest either:
A. I co-sign a loan for her.
B. The loan is in my name and she co-signs.

Not that I wouldn't but in the event she defaults and the loan falls back on me I would be in such dire straits (money for nothing and your chicks for free) it wouldn't be funny.

I told my g/f since her bank already offered to do the loan on the car to just go with them and screw the dealer and their banks.

It's still possible for the car to be her's and the week is still in the early days so who knows?

Since I last posted there's been a few rounds that have happened.

First the dealer called my g/f's cell phone yesterday but left no message? So on my way to my doctor's appointment I called them. And got the sales manager.
He wanted to know what we were doing about the car? So I asked him what he ment? Afterall, we're bound by what the bank does and if they drag their feet nothing we can do to get them to go any faster. And I explained this to him.
He came back with, "Well it's such a great price on the car we'd had other people come in to look at it and make offers."
I told him, "You want to sell the car, go right ahead." (in a not so pleasent tone)
He hung up on me while I was talking.
Nice way to treat a customer.

We've been trying to get things straightened out with the bank the loan is through and these things need taken care of before any money changes hands. Afterwards is not the time to do so.

But I feel this sales manager is pissed cause they aren't doing the loan and getting the kick back from the bank like he wanted. TOO BAD!!!!

With a little luck the car will be in my g/f's name tomorrow evening.

Oh, I forgot.........

Talking with the sales manager yesterday he told me he was tired of waiting on us.

But he sat there and agreed this coming friday (meaning tomorrow) was fine with him for getting the paperwork and such finished. My father was there and witnessed him agreeing to all this.

Personally, I don't give a flying rat's @$$ if he's tired of waiting or not.

If I washis customer, & was treated that way,
I would have walked `out, or hung `up.
He would have lost my business 4-Sure [:@]
Unless I was really/really/really in love with that Monte Carlo.
There are millions of cars for sale in the market today,
and sales or V-6 & V8's are slip'in in sales everyday with the increase
in the price of `gas : (
I'm not saying the customer is always `right, but the customer is the
one with the $'s Money.
I also think he was trying to pressure you by saying other people are interested
in the Monte Carlo you want. I would've said "Sell it to them U A-Hole : )
Good Luck R.J., I do hope you find what you are looking for, and
that's it is a good deal, and great Monte Carlo.

Absolute classic hurry up and buy this because as soon as you do I make my commission line. My dealer used it on me, but to be honest, I was going to buy the car anyway, so I really didn't care

Sounds like typical salesman b.s. to me.

As for whether the car is a JG edition or the pace car edition, it sounds to me like it's the pace car version. Which is great for your g/f if she doesn't feel like being approached by strangers. I get approached a lot by Dale Jr fans. I can just imagine what it would be like for your g/f to be approached by a bunch of guys she doesn't know.

The JG editions have the number 24 on the headrests, speedo, door sill plates, on the front licence plate delete, and on the rear pillars. It should also have his signature in a few places too. Like the plate on the dash above the glove box, in the speedo, and somewhere on the exterior of the car too. There's more places as well, but you get the idea. You can't always go by the exterior, because some signature series Monte's were made witha modesty-type thing in mind. But these cars still have all the signature series stuff inside the car.

Good luck in your quest for the right Monte. If your g/f says she likes the blue one better, you may as well just forget the red 00 SS even existed.

Good advice. And I appreciate the support.

Taz, you were right.

The red Monte does not exist.
