thats what i wish all generations of montys have 6 speed. like they did for the camarow and the corvet. thats why i dont see as much of the gm products on the road only for there trucks and the malibu. thats why i think they stoped makin the monty carlos after my year my year is the last of them 07 rest in peace of a excellent car. if gm made a 6 speed trans standered for the montys from 98 on up the sells would be higher than they were. i am still looking for the aftermarket for the 6 speed for the monty carlos the 3.5l to the 5.3l and the 3.9l are still under ratted

i like the eclipse. the car looks very cool. kind of a girly car though. in a drag race i think it would be a drivers race stock for stock. if you know how to launch the ls4 cars theyve been known to run in the 13s stock.

Hi `Alex,
I don't know about being a girly car, but I do think it would
end up being a `Driver's Race in stock form.
I like the futuristic design of the eclipse, but I like the
wind tunnel design of the Monte Carlo more

I was surprised to find the Monte & the Eclipse weight
the same. I do love the six speed manuel transmission in the
Eclipse & wish that Chevy would have had that option
for the Monte Carlo. Pontiac tried in their Model,
but it was not to good : (
Thanks for your input/post.

Brock & Ryan,
Great 3 Gen Eclipse's...Like them both, but the AWD Turbo
ones kick butt for a 4 Bang'in Machine 4 the $'s ; )

Beach Bum `Mike is driving his like a old lady, and
I think he's waxed every piece on his new ride.
He really is happy and he covers it up even if he parks
it for a few minutes.
He worked hard & true to get his first ride.
Oh, Don't even try to ride in the small back seat.
I'm 5'10 & 3/4 : ) & 146 lbs & had to sit sideways &
my head was hitt'in the roof : )
It's a two person ride...., but a fun ride : )
Thanks EveryOne 4 your post/comments.
Be Happy that you own'/drive a Monte
4-Sure

Those previous eclipse's had HORRIBLE understeer problems, and even adding weight / lowering the car couldn't help it if you added power and tried to turn in a poor condition.

If you are out racing your car, more than likely you are not going to be keeping it stock. I would think the 5.3L V8 has a lot more potential and is much cheaper to modify than the G.T. It just depends on what you'd like.

But, yea...driver's race, tires, track conditions.

...Thanks EveryBody for your post/comments. I never thought this thread would get so many `hit's.

I think the Eclipse is a decent car & I like it cause it shows what a 3.8L Engine can do with a six speed stick : ), but they don't have the potential of a 5.3L V8 Monte Carlo, plus they sure don't have the AweSome Sounds
of a Chevy V8.... 4-Sure
"2 each their own"

Peace/Out
