Default My SS vs. 2000 eclipse GT

This is the second time i have raced a eclipse GT. first time it was a stock car and this time the friend has a AEM intake on his so i though it would be closer.it wasn't

race 1: 30 roll i am in 1, 3 honks we take off i get ahead of him by about 3 cars and it stays that way for the rest of the time.

race 2: dig, Ilaunched the car at about 2grand( not a good launch at all, tires were some what cold and cold concret) I still jump ahaed of him by about 1 to 1.5 cars and it i gain a half a car by the finish.

His a friend of mine and it was more for fun than anything. and also i just love the feeling of racing

They have any mods? Stock Edmunds say they got 205 horses. You could have beat em in reverse!

That aint even fair!!

A wins a win

Congrats on the kills. Yeah those are not that fast of cars, I use to beat up on them when I had my 97 Firebird. Havn't had one race me in this car yet.

He had an AEM intake. lowering springs, and thats it

i just thoght it would be closer because him stock is 205 with intake 210-215hp along with he is almost 600 pounds lighter than me

Me stock is 200 then with my stuff done, bigger heavier rims, HAI, 2.5DP, high flow cat, u-bend delete, borla catback and my subs210-215

goes to show ya how crappy the japanesse cars really are... if you want fuel mileage, you suffer in performance. whats the torque on the eclipse? you might have beat him out of sheer low end power

Yep true, but you also have 20 lb/ft of torque more than him stock. Plus with your mods, even more. Torque is what gets you off the line not horsepower.
