I understand that technically an "American" is anyone who lives in north and south america. But when someone in another country refers to an "American", it's widely known they're referring to the U.S.
I know Lee Greenwood did the song, God Bless The USA. But I see more professional sports using God Bless America. Like this video of the Philly Flyers vs Boston Bruins game on May 2, 2011. The day after a very memorable event in world history.

Haha, that reminds me... Whenever anyone finds out my mom is German, they automatically think I was born in Germany. I was born at Ft. Riley, Kansas but grew up in Pennsylvania and Germany.

My mothers side of the family is from France. My great grandmother immigrated from Paris and my grandfathers family was from Marsailles France. My great grandmother insisted that my grandmother marry a Frenchman. That rule didn't apply to my mother. My fathers family is from Sweden and Heinz 57. When my folks got together it was like Lady and the Tramp. Lol.
