Window problem 97 monte LS

Default Window problem 97 monte LS

Windo will not stay on track, probably replace the regulator/motor, what a problem....now were not even sure if this is the problem....doesnt seem to have the power to keep on track?....the switch is brand new....ANY SUGGESTIONS?????

Welcome to the MCF. If the window won't stay on its track it is not an electrical issue. There are glides and rails that are attached to the glass and this is what moves to allow the window to raise and lower. The plastic glides are probably worn out.

Thank you, I wish I would have known about the Monte Forum much sooner, as a single mom and laywoman to engines, I did not properly maintain my Monte! We came to the conclusion that it probably was not the regulator/motor, but maybe one of the tracks, which most of this is impossible to see. They did not make my car friendly for home repair!!I have a better appreciation for my Monte! NEXT.....learning to change my oil.

One of the tracks may be bent out of shape also. Here is a write up on changing your oil. https://montecarloforum.com/forum/si...ictures-29480/ It may be a little different than your car but the basic idea is the same. You tube has some good videos on it also.
