Valve cover replacement

Default Valve cover replacement

Hi guys

2004 SS 3.8 L 189000 miles runs great, Thinking of replacing valve cover gaskets, what you recommend ??

I would recommend using fel pro gaskets. On a side note there is a recall on the front valve cover by GM if you haven't done this yet. But very important that you understand , if you bring it in for recall you had better remove the cover that goes over the upper intake. GM will take this part and no matter how much you complain , you will not get it back due to a fire hazard issue .If you are unsure if this has been done the new valve cover is black not grayish in color Good luck

I agree, see if you are able to get in on the recall, but also, important to note, the recall is good for only the FRONT cover.

As for gaskets, I favor fel-pro as well.
