Default Valve cover leak warranty

So do I understand correctly that a GM dealership will still fix this issue?? Just noticed it started recently on my bonneville..

It has over 350k miles on it, I have no records for any repair. I do have the title if that matters..

Or is this a simple gasket fix that I can do in a few hours?? Does the actual valve cover leak or just the gaskets?? It seems its my rear cover leaking tho...

If I understand the recall there is a issue with the front valve cover and the possibility of it leaking. The repair is 1 new vale cover and the loss of the 3800 engine cover. The recall usually comes with a white campaign sticker they put up by radiator. If your the owner of an affected car you can bring it in regardless of mileage and no they wont just give you the parts.

I inspected my covers for cracks....didn't see any...replaced with fel pro gaskets. got rid of that plastic wire holder. no leaks no issues and I can still keep my beauty cover.

Keep the oil filler neck extension too if you have the dealer do it. Take the engine cover and extension off before you take it in. The oil filler cap will thread directly into the valve cover.
